ACTS Global Rating

A 2011 Global Go-To Think Tanks Ratings Report has been released in Washington DC. ACTS is pleased to announce that it has been rated top 30 globally in two categories. In the first category, which is The “TOP 30 Environment Think Tanks” globally, the organization has been rated 28th. In the second category, ACTS is ranked 21st under the “Science & Technology” Think Tanks.

PISCES Bioethanol Workshop- Kisumu, Kenya 17th February 2012
As part of the tri-annual PISCES meetings, a bioethanol workshop will take place on Friday 17th February 2012. The one-day event will be held in Kisumu, Western Kenya. In attendance will be representatives from the PISCES consortium, as well as sugar companies from the region, research institutions, university staff and NGOs involved in agroforestry, energy and development. The University of Alberta’s International Week 2012 January 30th to February 3rd
The Executive Director attended the University of Alberta’s International Week 2012 which was held in Edmonton, Alberta. She was a speaker on the topic ‘providing enough food for all: An African Perspective’, and ‘Women, Decision-Making and Development’.
The African Students' Association (AFSA) is a student group that provides an engaging forum for all students of African descent and all those interested in issues of African concern in Edmonton. Our objective is to initiate programs of special interest to African students with a view of articulating a progressive African position and generating informed support for African development.

World Bank’s Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting, 21-24 February 2012
The Executive Director will attend the World Bank’s Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting of Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) in Washington DC. She is a member of TAG.
